These categories are found on Amazon and you can search through these categories to find out what kind of books other authors are writing to help you come up with some ideas for your own book.
Biographies & Memoirs
A biography is a written detailed account of someone’s life. You could write a biography of a famous person such as a celebrity, an athlete or the leader of a country, or you could write about a family member or a friend who lived an extraordinary life.
A memoir, on the other hand, is a written collection of memories about events in an individual’s life, both public and private, that took place. A memoir is usually written from the perspective of the author. If you can remember important events that happened in your life, then it may be worth writing about in a memoir.
Self-Help
Self-help books are very popular because they focus on helping individuals to solve personal problems. The purpose of self-help or self-improvement books are to instruct readers on how they can improve their personal and professional lives.
You could write about eliminating obstacles to help you reach your goals, how to be more productive at work and in life, how to get over your failures, how to boost your self-esteem, how to be more confident, or how to have more control of your emotions.
Additionally, you could write about success and happiness such as how to be successful in relationships, in business, in your career and in achieving your goals. You could also write about how to be successful in making money and changing your life.
There are also a lot of things you can write about happiness. You can write about finding inner happiness such as contentment and peace of mind. You can also write about developing a meaningful and fulfilling to achieve happiness or how to use happiness to improve our performance and to become more successful.
Religion & Spirituality
You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to write books about religion and spirituality. You could write a book about your own religious experiences or write your own interpretation of Bible passages.
You could also interview religious leaders about certain topics such as their faith, how they see God, or what they believe about heaven and hell. You could write about miracles that people have experienced in their lives or near-death experiences. You could also write about how your own faith in God helped you to face and overcome challenges in your life.
Health, Fitness & Dieting
This is a very popular category because many people want to lose weight, improve their health, and exercise more. There are a wide range of topics you can write about in this category.
You can write books about healthy recipes, various exercise techniques to lose weight and tone your body, how to develop your muscles, how to stay in shape, how to lose belly fat after having a baby, healthy recipes to lower your blood pressure, special diets for diabetics, gluten-free recipes, and the list goes on. Business & Money
Writing about business and money is something that will never go out of style. You will always find people who are interested in how to earn more money, how to save money, how to budget money and how to save for retirement.
You can also write about financial planning, how to get out of debt, how to invest in the stock market, or how to make money online. In business, you could write about how to start a business, how to ask for a promotion, or how to increase sales and revenue. You could also interview business leaders and CEO’s to get their advice on how to achieve success in business.
Parenting & Relationships
There are plenty of books you could write about parenting. You could write about what to expect for new parents, how to teach your child how to read, how to improve your relationship with your teenagers, potty training a child, how to get your child to listen to you when you talk, or how to discipline children when they are naughty.
In terms of relationships, you could write about how to improve your marriage, how to leave a toxic relationship, and how to recover from a toxic relationship.
You could also write about how to overcome anxiety in a relationship and how to improve communication in a relationship. Additionally, you could write about dating advice for men and women, and how to work through conflicts in a relationship.
Education & Teaching
There is a wide range of topics that you can cover in the education and teaching category. For example, you can write about your experiences as a teacher or write a book on how to become a teacher.
You can write about a particular subject that you have a lot of experience in such as math, geography or English. If you are fluent in a particular language you could write a book about that too, such as French, Spanish, or German. You can write about how to home school children or how to prepare children for school.
Arts & Crafts, Hobbies & Home
There are many people who may share your hobbies and interests. You can write about knitting, sewing or cooking for beginners. If you love to draw you can create a colouring book for adults or teach people how to draw different objects. You can write a book about doing easy home projects and making things out of clay. You can teach people how to do origami, play chess, or make paper airplanes.
